Shoot for the Stars

In 2025, Filmmaker Adam Ernster spent nearly a year documenting the community-based origins and groundbreaking research and restoration work of Sunflower Star Laboratory. The resulting film tells the story of California’s kelp forest crisis, and the group of concerned community members taking action to restore the sunflower star and save our redwoods of the sea.
