This is the initial session where we’ll explain the general role of an outreach volunteer, the goals of our outreach program, and the basics you will need to interact with guests at the lab. Afterwards there will be some self-paced learning, followed by in-person training and mentoring.
You’d be a great as an Outreach Volunteer if:
You love educating people about the science or conservation
You’re a strong communicator to small groups (or aspire to be)
You can commit to the equivalent of 1 full day a month in-person in Moss Landing
You care about Sunflower Star Laboratory’s mission and want to help
Key Dates to Save:
Intro Session - 11/21 6:30pm - 8pm (Registration)
Formal In-Person Training (you will only need to attend 1 of the below in-person sections):
Tuesday 12/3 9:30am-12:30pm
Saturday 12/7 9:30am-12:30pm
If not everyone can make one of the in-person options, we will create a 3rd date based on availability of those who can’t attend.
